FERTILITY AND WOMEN'S HEALTH

WORKING WITH ME

Trying to conceive without answers can feel incredibly frustrating — especially when you’re told everything is “normal”. My job is to look deeper, investigate properly and support your body so you have the best possible chance of conceiving. I generally work with women and couples who want to take a thoughtful, investigative approach to fertility — combining acupuncture, testing and personalised treatment plans. If you work with me there will be no false promises, no sugar-coating, just honest evidence-based guidance.

Fertility treatment often focuses on the end result — getting pregnant — without always taking the time to properly understand why it hasn’t happened yet. If you work with me, we will investigate properly - if you’ve been told your fertility issues are “unexplained”, it often just means no one has looked closely enough yet. We look at hormone health, cycle patterns, egg and sperm quality, inflammation, nutrition, stress and overall health to build a clearer picture of what your body needs.

We will work with your body, not against it. Eggs and sperm take around three months to develop, which is why quick fixes rarely work and I usually work with fertility clients for a minimum of three months. In this time we will focus on supporting the processes that actually influence fertility, giving your body the time it needs to respond.

Fertility journeys can be emotional and vulnerable. The last thing anyone needs is unrealistic promises. I’ll always be honest about what I think will help, what might not, and when something needs further medical investigation. Your fertility doesn’t exist in isolation from the rest of your health and that’s why we look at everything — from sleep and stress to digestion, hormones and past medical history — because small details can be important and there really is no such thing s TMI.

Many of the people I work with come to me after months or years of trying to conceive and feeling like they still don’t have clear answers. Some of the most common situations I support include:

  • "Unexplained infertility"
  • Preparing your body before trying to conceive or before starting IVF or IUI
  • Supporting fertility alongside IVF treatment
  • Irregular or absent cycles
  • PCOS
  • Recurrent miscarriage
  • Optimising egg or sperm quality
  • Endometriosis
  • Reproductive immunology

If you work with me, it is very likely that I will require you to do additional testing. Sometimes people arrive having already done extensive investigations. More often, they’ve been told they’ve “had all the tests” when in reality they’ve only had the basics. If further testing would be helpful, I’ll explain what I recommend and why.

How to Work With Me

1. Book Your Initial Consultation

This can be done in Skerries or Duleek and takes 90 minutes. We go through your full health and fertility history — from headaches to daily bowel movements (yes, really) - and I will also ask about your partner’s medical history if applicable or will need them to attend if you are unable to answer on their behalf. I will need to see the results of all investigations you have already carried out in advance so that we can discuss them at the session. If you have not had any investigations done, I will generally recommend that you have comprehensive blood tests, a pelvic ultrasound scan and sperm analysis at the beginning of treatment. This will give us more insight into any conditions you may have as well as providing a base line to work from.  Depending on the results and as treatment progresses, I may recommend more advanced testing and will refer you to other specialists as needed.

2. Begin Treatment

I recommend booking a package of 12 acupuncture treatments (roughly three months) - you can pay up front for a discounted price or you can pay as you go. It’s best to schedule your sessions in advance so you can secure appointment times that work for you.

My approach is supportive but honest, and it works best with people who are ready to take an active role in their fertility journey.

Who I Work Best With

My approach tends to work best for people who are:

• Trying to conceive and want to understand what’s really going on
• Open to a holistic or complementary approach alongside conventional medicine
• Willing to do further testing if recommended
• Prepared to make changes where they’ll genuinely help
• Ready to commit to a few months of treatment

Why We Work in 3-Month Blocks

Eggs and sperm take around three months to mature. That means the changes we make today — improving hormone balance, supporting egg or sperm quality, reducing inflammation and regulating cycles — show up in the body about three months later. Because of that, the starting point for working together is a minimum of three months of treatment. Often this is enough to identify and resolve the issues affecting fertility.

Sometimes things are more complex and require longer support so occasionally I’ll recommend pausing treatment temporarily — for example if surgery is needed — and we’ll restart when you’re preparing to try again. Every fertility journey is different, so your plan will always be tailored to you.

What I Ask From You

This process works best when we treat it as a team effort. From you, I ask for:

Commitment — fertility optimisation takes consistency
Regular treatment — acupuncture works best when done consistently
Openness — I ask about everything from childhood illnesses to digestion (nothing is off the table)
Willingness to investigate when testing is recommended

Ready to Get Started?

If what you’ve read here resonates with you, either get in touch for a chat and we’ll talk through where you are, what you’ve tried so far and whether working together feels like the right next step or book your initial consultation.

Once you decide to move forward, you don’t have to carry all of this alone anymore.

You bring the commitment.
I’ll bring the strategy, support and expertise.

And together we’ll focus on improving your health and giving you the best possible chance of conceiving.
